The prodrome stage is usually one to two days prior to a migraine attack when a person may experience constipation, depression, food cravings, irritability, hyperactivity, neck stiffness, or uncontrollable yawning. Migraines may progress through four stages: prodrome, aura, headache and postdrome though a person may not experience all the stages. Migraine attacks can cause pain from hours to days and be preceded or accompanied by sensory warning symptoms (aura), such as flashes of light, blind spots, or tingling in your arm or leg. Had I been on it who knows what would happen.Migraines are a type of headache that cause an intense throbbing or pulsing in one area of the head, and are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. It's interesting that I had my first positive aura with scotoma off the birth control. Metformin actually improves mine - not like the pill which didn't address insulin issues. I'm currently on Metformin since last year for the insulin problem. So I guess I'm like you - I won't be able to go back on birth control for PCOS now. He said keep an eye out and that I shouldn't be any OCP if I have positive aura because of stroke etc. It was scary but my neurologist warned me about them when I was I first went for a consult because I was on birth control. Had migraine with benign aura like floating black dots for a decade - but never one like this !! For 5 of these years I was on the pill - just came off it a year ago due to a supplier issue covid. I also had headache, difficulty concentrating on screen, and felt woozy and slightly nauseous. I just had my first positive aura tonight - zig zag rainbow moving lines with scotoma.
